Am I pushing myself hard enough?

Am I pushing myself hard enough if I am able to use the same weight and same number of reps for each set? For example, I am able to do 3x9 with 50lbs and an RPE 7 for single leg press 45°. Does this mean I didn’t go hard enough on the first set if I was able to finish with the same wt and reps?

Shoes on Full Body Days

I’ve been going through the 12-week Full Body Training Program and am wondering which shoes are best to wear on a day that involves little bit of cardio and full body. I know a flat foot is best when training legs (I wear converse), but then my feet hurt when I do my warm up sprints/short walks on the treadmill at the end. How should I figure out which shows to wear to optimize both?

Question regarding comment in ep. 94

Hi Tony and Marianna, I was wondering if you could expand on your comment about not being able to build muscle with just body weight/ using bands. Can’t you find a variation of an exercise that you can progressively overload just using body weight. for example if squats are too easy doing progressions to be able to do a pistol squat, etc.

Cardio with your new full body workout

I have recently started your new full body workout, and I’m loving it. My question is; If I am trying to decrease my Body fat percentage, should I incorporate HIIT? Thanks.

Confused about bulk

I’ve been listening to a couple of podcasts where the advice for people like me seems to be to increase calories and build some muscle before trying to lose weight. I’m 43, 5’8 and 194lb. I’m not sure of my body fat but Renpho scales say 25%. This is why I’m confused. Everything I read says that too high to increase calories, but all the advice I am hearing on pods etc says build muscle and then it will be easier to cut. I’ve been pretty much a permanent cutter for years and years. I’ve done a lot of stuff over the years, 10 years ago I was into powerlifting but over time that faded away and got the last 5 years I’ve pretty much been heavily into cardio and long distance triathlon. Over the past year or so I’ve been lifting again. My long term goal is to lose fat. But the problem is my maintenance seems to be like 2250 and I need to cut below 2000 to lose weight which is not sustainable for me. I have never eaten above surplus before. So I’m a bit stuck. My current plan is to increase calories by like 10% on maintenance and try to build some muscle but I’m worried it’s the wrong approach.
